I think that this is a waste or resources. The money can very well go into other funds. Our economy is already doing pretty bad especially for a first world country and yet they are investing money on something like that.
Yes, it is interesting to find out how to achieve certain things and have a breakthrough in a certain area. The question is 'Is it worth it?' The goal is to make people happy but we don't really know for sure if the people who undergo the change will be happy for life.
I think sex change is a form of escape for people who do not know how to love themselves for who they are. They may say that 'after I get this, I will be happy.' However, will they truly be happy? Or is that the spark that starts the continuous insatisfaction of people? After the sex change, will they want to change back? Will they feel that in the end, it really isn't what they want?
Money spent into this can go into many different areas to help our people like the poor and less privileged people. I think that the government should spare more thought for their people and spend money wisely.
